SAP Note 1316075 - Display errors in license management

Symptom
This note corrects four errors in the display of license management data.
    1. You use license management in SAP Solution Manager. In the work center under license management, there are incorrect status displays for the "License" column. For example, the status is red (no license in the managed system), even though there is a valid license in the managed system.
    2. The product version name is missing in license management (in the system overview) for some systems.
    3. 30 days before the maintenance certificate expires, a red traffic light and not a green traffic light is set in the system overview display of license management.
    4. No data from the managed system is displayed in the details of the selected system, even though the system overview display of license management displays colored traffic lights for the system.
Other terms
License management, landscape fetch
Reason and Prerequisites
    1. There is an error in the background job, which reads the license status data from the managed system.
    2. The product version in the system landscape could not be determined.
    3. This is caused by a program error.
    4. This is caused by a program error.
Solution
Implement the attached correction instructions.
    1. The error will then be corrected.
    2. The product version name appears for some systems. If it does not appear after you implement the correction instructions, the product version may not be determined uniquely in system landscape maintenance. Therefore, the product version name cannot be determined. Manually maintain the product version for the affected system in system landscape maintenance (transaction SMSY). The product version name should then appear.
    3. The error will then be corrected.
    4. The error will then be corrected.

Perform the following manual tasks in the background job LANDSCAPE_FETCH in order to improve the log in license management.
Transaction SNOTE cannot implement short texts. Select the main system language as the logon language. If in doubt, select English.

    1. In transaction SE91, choose the message class AGS_MK_MESSAGES in change mode.

    2. If you receive a message asking if you want to change the original language of the message class, do not choose "Yes", as this will bring you to the original language of the object.

    3. Add the new short texts 031, 032 and 033 to the message class.

Remark: If the users in your system use only one language (for example Japanese), it is best to maintain the text in this language. When you import the next Support Package, the texts are overwritten in all implemented languages.

Text in note language:

    • 031 No authorization for authorization object S_TABU_RFC: ACTVT FIELD 03
    • 032 Exception ERROR: Call in function module /SDF/SLIC_READ_LICENSES
    • 033 Unknown error: Call in function module /SDF/SLIC_READ_LICENSES
    • Text in English:
    • 031 No authorization for authorization object S_TABU_RFC: ACTVT FIELD 03
    • 032 Exception ERROR: Call in function module /SDF/SLIC_READ_LICENSES
    • 033 Unknown Error: Call in function module /SDF/SLIC_READ_LICENSES
    4. Save and activate the changes.
