The SAP EarlyWatch alert is used for the determination of the data necessary for the maintenance renewal.In order to be able to determine all relevant information, an additional transport is required for systems with Release 3.1I and earlier. With systems as of Release 4.0B it is already integrated in the current support Add-On ST-PI.

Reason and Prerequisites
In the course of the adjustment of the maintenance strategy, SAP has implemented a higher flexibility.Now it is possible to individually renew the maintenance also for the R/3 releases that are not covered within the standard maintenance anymore.

Solution
In order to transfer the required data, import the transport as described in Note 597323 for the R/3 Release 3.1H 3.1I.
For the Releases 4.x you have to import the current Add-On ST-PI correspondingly. Information on this are included in the SAP Service Marketplace under http://service.sap.com/supporttools and Note 539977.
