Reason and Prerequisites
If you have not previously installed an ST-PI add-on, use the CD for the installation; or if you already have add-on ST-PI 003A_[SAP Release], 003B_[SAP Release], 003C_[SAP Release] or 2005_1_[SAP-Release] in your system, then use the CD for the delta upgrade.

1. General information

• You can use this software either as a:

• New installation 2008_1_[SAP Release] or

• Delta upgrade from 003A_[SAP Release] to 2008_1_[SAP Release]

• Delta upgrade of 003B_[SAP Release] to 2008_1_[SAP Release]

• Delta upgrade from 003C_[SAP Release] to 2008_1_[SAP Release]

• Delta upgrade from 2005_1_[SAP-Release] to 2008_1_[SAP-Release]

• The software is only available electronically on SAP Service Marketplace and is not provided as an actual CD.

2. Preparing for the installation/delta upgrade

• Load the following current versions from the Software Distribution Center on SAP Service Marketplace

  and import them into your SAP system:

• Load the ST-PI installation/delta upgrade package from the Software Distribution Center on SAP Service Marketplace

3. Performing the installation/delta upgrade

• Log on to your SAP System in client 000 as a user with SAP_ALL rights. Do NOT use the users SAP* or DDIC.

• In transaction SAINT, select add-on ST-PI and choose 'Continue'.
  If all required conditions are met for importing the add-on, the system now displays the relevant queue. The queue consists of the installation package and may also contain components and Add-On Support Packages.
  To start the installation process, choose 'Continue'.

• You use transaction SPAM/SAINT to implement the packages for ST-PI. Under normal circumstances, you can implement them during operations. When you implement them in BW systems (or other systems with a connected BW system), it is not necessary to process the open data extraction requests since ST-PI does not contain any BI data structures. The corresponding dialog box in transaction SPAM/SAINT is merely for the purpose of information.

4. After the installation or update

• Transaction SDCCN
  Since transaction SDCC is no longer maintained as of December 2005, we recommend that you use transaction SDCCN. If you want to continue using transaction SDCC, implement Note 848146.

• Application-specific notes
  After the installation, implement Note 1300023.

• Delivery Customizing:
  Delivery Customizing is imported in client 000 and must be copied to another client, as required. See Note 337623 for more information.

5. Language support

• If you intend to install additional languages, we recommend that you do this before you import further Support Packages.

• In addition to German and English, the system supports the following languages:
  Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese.

• All language-dependent parts of ST-PI are contained in the add-on installation package. If the relevant standard language is available in the system when ST-PI is imported, the language section of the add-on is imported automatically. You do not have to import a language transport separately.

• If you import a new standard language in your system after the installation of ST-PI, you must ensure that the relevant language-dependent part of the add-on is imported also.
